Our story
We are a dedicated team committed to crafting exceptional outcomes. Our focus lies in providing reliable solutions, driven by a deep respect for quality and a genuine desire to exceed expectations. The Cushion Cupboard was created out of a desire to fill a gap in the market for custom made cushions. At the time (2007) there were not many sewers willing to spend time on cushions or promote this category in their business. And now we make cushions for many of the country's leading Interior Designers and their clients.
The Purpose
My background wasn't cushions. I was a young Mum involved in corporate sales and marketing and wanting/needing a change and while on maternity leave (and nesting) I realised custom cushions was a category that needed addressing. I did the Nanette Cameron Interior Design Course and next minute I am selling custom made cushions and stocking top Auckland furniture stores. Working from home became a problem and so I buy a small existing workroom in Takapuna called Prestige. The Cushion Cupboard was parked while I grew Prestige - a soft furnishings manufacturing company. Now I've gone full circle and The Cushion Cupboard is a division of Prestige CMT Interiors which also manufacturers and installs curtains, roman blinds and roller blinds to the Interior Design industry. Our team are all Women. We understand Women and most of our clients are Women.
